Biographical Information[edit]
Hakeem Rahniady Putra Ady has played for the Indonesian national team.
He came to the US and Canada at age 16 to develop his baseball skills. Ady was 1 for 11 for Indonesia in the 2018 East Asian Baseball Cup but the infielder handled 17 chances error-free. In the 2018 Asian Games, he was the primary shortstop for Indonesia. He hit .250/.308/.500 with a homer, steal and 3 RBI in 5 games, while handling 14 chances without an error. The only shortstop with more chances and a perfect fielding percentage in the Games was Junpeng Chen. He went deep off Sakai Phraechai in Indonesia's first win ever in baseball at an Asian Games, beating Thailand. It was Indonesia's first homer in an Asian Games. He led Indonesia in RBI and homers and was second in slugging (to Faldy Akhmad Zulfikar); technically, neither Ady nor Zulfikar qualified for the batting leaders but both played every game for Indonesia.
He hit .232/.328/.286 for LA Pierce College in 2019. He was an infielder for Indonesia when they won Bronze in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
