Biographical Information

Hector Mercado had a 2.25 ERA and no decisions for the Tigres de Aragua in the 2008 Caribbean Series.

Mercado was a coach for the GCL Astros in 2010-2011, Greeneville Astros in 2012, and GCL Astros again in 2013-2015. He then moved to the Philadelphia Phillies' chain as pitching coach of the GCL Phillies in 2016-2017 and GCL Phillies East in 2018-2019. He was scheduled to be pitching coach for the Clearwater Threshers in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to Covid-19.
