Biographical Information

Gustavo Martínez has pitched and coached in the minors.

He was signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1990. Statistics for the Dominican Summer League of that era are hard to come by but it is known that he was 8-4 with a 1.83 ERA for the 1993 DSL Dodgers II. He was 5th in the DSL in ERA and helped his team to the title. He possibly was high as second in wins. He was 4-5 with a save and a 4.79 ERA for the 1995 Palm Springs Suns to end his playing career.

He became pitching coach for the DSL Dodgers after finishing as a player. From 2000-2008, he was a coach in the Chicago White Sox chain. He then was pitching coach for Matino in the Italian minors in 2012. He was pitching coach for the DSL Royals from 2015-2017.
