Biographical Information[edit]
Gus Krock had a big year as a 22-year-old rookie in 1888 for the Chicago White Stockings, going 25-14 on the second-place team and pitching 339 2/3 innings with an ERA of 2.44. He may have worn out his arm, because he was not able to pitch effectively again in the majors.
He was the Mark "the Bird" Fidrych of his time.
