Biographical Information[edit]

Gretchen Aucoin played first base and pitched for two years at Texas Tech University before transferring to the University of Tennessee for her final two softball seasons. After graduating in 2016, she attended Auburn University and earned a master's degree in Exercise Science. Aucoin was self-employed as a softball instructor while working on her master's. She returned to the diamond to play professionally for the Cleveland Comets in 2018 and Bussolengo Softball in 2019, the latter located in Italy. Aucoin spent most of 2019-2021 working at various jobs in New Zealand.[1]

In 2022 Aucoin returned to the United States and the New York Mets hired her for a development coach position with the St. Lucie Mets. The next season she worked as a rehabilitation hitting coach at the Mets Florida Complex. Aucoin was a bench coach for the DSL Mets 2 in 2024.
