Biographical Information[edit]
Greg Keatley was a star at the University of South Carolina who set the record there for the longest hitting streak. He also appeared in the 1975 College World Series.
He was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 5th round in the 1976 amateur draft, spent some time in the minor league organizations of the Cubs, Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals, and came up to the majors for two games as a catcher with the Royals in 1981. The regular catcher at the time was John Wathan.
