Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Greg Ferguson was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 28th round of the 1988 amateur draft and played only one professional season before suffering an untimely death. Between the Southern Oregon A's and Madison Muskies in 1988, he went 4-1 with a 2.47 ERA in 62 innings. He died at the age of 22 on December 19, 1988 due to injuries sustained in an auto accident.
His place of death has also been listed as Bassett, VA.[1]
