Biographical Information[edit]

Grant Everard played 20 years in Manitoba.

Everard debuted in 1965. He hit .417 and was 1-1 in limited action for the '66 Riverside Blues and was 2-2, hitting .231 the next year. In 1968, fell to 4-5 and .148 for the Riverside Canucks. The next year, he was 5-3, tying for 5th in the Manitoba Senior Baseball League in wins. He batted .316 for the 1970 Canucks. In '71, he was 5-5, tying for 5th in wins.

He was with Team Canada in the 1971 Amateur World Series. He was at 8th in the Manitoba League at .318 in 1972 and was 4-3, tied for 7th in victories. He was 8-3 (tying Les Lisowski for the win lead) and hit .284 in 1973 to win MVP honors. He also was named playoff MVP. In '74, he was 9-5 for Riverside, one win behind leader Ray Bruels. His 11-1 record in 1976 again put him one win behind the leader, Dan Kaupla. He was 6-1 in 1977.

In 1978, he was again 6-1, trailing only Gerry Falk in wins. He had a 4-1 record in 1979, tying for 5th in wins. He won MVP and Pitcher of the Year in 1981 and Pitcher of the Year again in 1982; stats are unavailable for those years. Overall, he had gone 107-47, been a 11-time All-Star and won five pennants. He was named to the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame in 2001.
