Biographical Information[edit]
After a stint as assistant coach at the University of Puget Sound in 1980 and head coach at Puget Sound in 1981 (some sources list him as an assistant coach at the University of Washington in 1981), Grady Fuson joined the Oakland Athletics as a scout in 1982. He later managed in their farm system for four years before spending seven seasons as the club's Director of Scouting (1995-2001). Fuson spent three years in the Texas Rangers front office, 2002 as scouting director and 2003-2004 as director of player develpoment. He moved on to the San Diego Padres in 2005 as special assistant to the general manager. He was the team's Vice President of Scouting and Player Development from 2006 to 2009. Fuson returned to the A's as a special adviser to baseball operations in 2010.
