Biographical Information[edit]
Gordon Massa was at the College of the Holy Cross from 1954-1957 and by September of that last year, he was in the majors. He played eight games for the Chicago Cubs in 1957 and 1958.
He was a two-way player during several years in the minors, pitching in 24 games. With the San Antonio Missions in 1961 he had an ERA of 3.86.
His minor league career was spent in the Midwest and the South, with five seasons in the Texas League.
He was a three-sport athlete in college, playing catcher and first base on the baseball team, which went 42-11 while he played with them. In football, he played center and linebacker. He was a walk-on as a senior for the basketball team. He has been named to the Holy Cross Athletic Hall of Fame. Source: Holy Cross website.

After baseball, he had a sales career with Ashland Chemical. [1]
