Biographical Information[edit]

Glenn Gregson pitched for 7 years in the minors and has since coached in the minors and majors. In 2007, he is slated to be the pitching coach for the GCL Red Sox.

Gregson debuted in 1972 with the Appleton Foxes, posting a 3.27 ERA in 8 appearances and registering one save. In 1973, Glenn was with Appleton (0-4, 1 Sv, 4.67, 16 H, 33 BB in 27 IP) and the Pulaski Phillies (1-4, 4.62).

He split 1974 between the Auburn Phillies (7-3, 5 Sv, 3.15) and the Spartanburg Phillies (0-2, 1 Sv, 1.97). In 1975, Goose pitched in 52 games for the Rocky Mount Phillies, leading the Carolina League. He won 9, lost 2 and saved 7 with a 2.34 ERA and 44 walks in 77 IP. He allowed only one home run.

Gregson spent his last three years as a player with the Reading Phillies. In 1976, he was 0-6 with 5 saves and a 2.69 ERA. The next year, his record was 1-2 with a 6.83 ERA. Finally, in 1978, he was 2-1 with a 6.21 ERA.

Gregson coached in the Phillies chain in 1979-1981. From 1982-1987, he coached in the Chicago Cubs system, including the Midland Cubs in 1982-1984 and Winston-Salem Spirits in 1987. From 1988-1997, he coached in the minor leagues for the Los Angeles Dodgers including the Great Falls Dodgers in 1988-1989, Bakersfield Dodgers in 1990-1991, and Albuquerque Dukes in 1993-1994. He then joined the major league staff in 1998 as the pitching coach. From 1999-2001, he coached for the Phillies farm teams once again for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons in 1999 [1] and 2001 [2], and was minor-league pitching coordinator in 2000 [3]. He moved to the Red Sox system in 2002 and has coached for the GCL Red Sox and also served as the Latin American pitching coordinator in addition to serving on the club's big league staff in 2003.
