Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Golden Tate was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 42nd round of the 2007 Amateur Draft, but did not sign. He was later drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 50th round of the 2010 Amateur Draft.

He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2nd round of the 2010 NFL draft as a wide receiver. He had 898 yards receiving for the Seahawks team that won the 2014 Super Bowl; his quarterback was also a baseball player, Russell Wilson. He played in the NFL until 2020, also appearing with the Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants in his 11 seasons. He made the Pro Bowl in 2014 with Detroit and in 160 career games amassed almost 8,000 yard on 695 receptions. He was also used regularly as a punt returner.

In 2022, he decided to return to what he called his "first love", baseball, pitching for the Port Angeles Lefties, a team in the summer collegiate West Coast League.
