Biographical Information[edit]
Gil Perez pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.
Perez began his professional career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he went 0-2 with a 4.61 ERA for the GCL Pirates in 1991. He went 3-5 with a 6.07 ERA in 1992 for the Welland Pirates, then he improved to 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA in 1993. Perez had an elite 0.96 ERA in 5 games in Welland in 1994, but his ERA rose to 6.75 in 25 games for the Augusta GreenJackets. He was 2-2 with a 2.79 ERA for the Erie Sea Wolves in 1995.
The Wei Chuan Dragons of Taiwan signed Perez in 1997, and he was 1-3 with a 6.00 ERA for them. He then went 1-1 with a 4.17 ERA for the Bridgeport Bluefish in 2000, and his ERA was 3.63 with a 9-3 record for the Long Island Ducks in 2001. Perez returned to Bridgeport in 2002, and he had a 3-9 record with a 5.16 ERA. He spent his last season with the Lancaster Barnstormers, and he went 2-3 with a 2.54 ERA in 2005.
