Gesa Stadium in Pasco, WA, is the home of the Tri-City Dust Devils, the Los Angeles Angels' Northwest League farm team. It has a unique component: a huge sunshade that towers up from the back of the first-base stands.

Originally, the Devils had difficulty selling seats anywhere on the third-base side of the ballpark. To provide fans a view of the Columbia and Kennewick, its plate-to-center axis points south rather than the recommended east-northeast - but in the area's desert climate that also let the early-inning sun pour heat as well as light onto everything to the left of that axis. After a 2005 change in team leadership and with money from a state grant, a 56-foot tall, 152-foot-wide shade - likened to a giant window blind, although it does not open and close - was built.

MLB's 2021 Minor League Reorganization necessitated another renovation greatly expanded existing standards for stadiums hosting affiliated teams, but another grant will help: In April 2023, the Washington State Legislature approved Gov. Jay Inslee signed a capital construction budget that includes money for several Washington baseball stadiums, including $3 million toward renovating Gesa.

Opened in 1995, the ballpark originally hosted the Tri-City Posse of the independent Western Baseball League. When the Portland Rockies moved to Pasco in 2001, they called it Tri-City Stadium, then - apparently without any official consent from the facility's owner - Dust Devils Stadium, until selling Gesa Credit Union naming rights in 2008.

"Tri" aside, the city of Pasco built and owns the playpen. The current lease does address naming rights, allowing the team to sell them but specifying the default name as Pasco Stadium and barring the club from naming its playpen for itself.

The other two "tri" cities are Kennewick, which is just across the Columbia River from Pasco, and Richland, about 10 miles upstream.
