Biographical Information

George Tesnow played several seasons of minor league baseball.

Tesnow completed 65 combat missions over Germany as a US Air Force bombardier in World War II. He flew on both both D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. He then played pro baseball. In 1949, he was with the Hot Springs Bathers (15 for 60, 2B) and Muskegon Clippers (3 for 17, 3B). He hit .227/?/.293 between three clubs in the 1950 Florida International League: the Miami Beach Flamingos, St. Petersburg Saints and Miami Sun Sox. In '51, he played for Miami (.195/?/.250 in 39 G) and the Asheville Tourists (.296/?/.362 in 71 G). He hit .223/?/.244 for the 1952 Tourists, who he also managed for part of the year. On August 20, 1953, he was married at a home plate ceremony. After his pro career ended, he was involved in Little League Baseball in Transylvania County.
