Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder George McNamara worked in a Chicago steel mill prior to signing with the Washington Senators. He reached the majors with the Senators for three games in 1922 and later played in the St. Louis Cardinals organization.
After his baseball days, McNamara became a Chicago firefighter, rising to the rank of batallion chief. After retiring from the fire department, he worked for various horse tracks in Illinois.
