Biographical Information

George 'Dibby' Flynn was the brother of Ed Flynn. Along with one year in the majors, he had quite a few years in the minors, including parts of six seasons with Indianapolis. He played in the Western Association in 1901, according to Sporting Life, and then, per the same paper, he "died suddenly at Clark and Van Buren streets on December 28, from the effects of a severe hemorrhage of the lungs. He had been a sufferer of consumption for some time, and had planned to leave for Arizona that day. After reaching the railway station, however, he decided that he would prefer to die in Chicago, and turned back home, but met his death before he was able to reach his destination". He was 30 years old.
