Biographical Information

Outfielder George Dalrymple played in the minor leagues for 14 seasons, in 1895 and from 1897 to 1909.

Dalrymple hit .247 with 36 runs in 58 games between three Eastern Iowa League teams his first year. He was with the Cairo Egyptians in 1897, then bounced between four teams in 1898-1899. In 1900, he hit .269 and slugged .370 while stealing 16 bases for Pueblo. He hit .245 for the 1901 Selma Christians and .219 with the '02 Seattle Clamdiggers. He fell to .183 in 1903 then improved to .263 in 1904 and .281 for the 1905 Guthrie Senators. He tied for fifth in the Western Association that year with 146 hits.

In 1906, he batted .256 with 7 home runs and 15 outfield assists for the Joplin Miners. He was 4th in the WA in dingers in that Deadball Era season, only two shy of the co-leaders. He managed the Webb City Goldbugs in 1907, replacing Richard Rohn partway through the season (he also hit .253 for the club). In 1908, he hit .222 with 10 home runs in 78 games for the Springfield Midgets and .267 in some time with the McKeesport Tubers. He tied for second in the Western Association in circuit clouts. He ended up as player-manager of the Muskogee Navigators in 1909, batting .243 with a .389 slugging in 38 games in the field.
