Biographical Information[edit]
First baseman Dick Rohn played in the minor leagues from 1901 to 1913. He hit .300 or better multiple times, including a .301 mark in 129 games for the Sedalia Goldbugs in 1903 and a .326 mark in 114 games for Sedalia in 1904. He hit .322 in 100 games for the Joplin Miners in 1910.
He also managed for quite a few years, leading the Sedalia Goldbugs for the latter part of 1905, replacing Dutch Henry, the Webb City Goldbugs for the latter part of 1906, replacing Tom Hayden, the Webb City Goldbugs for the initial part of 1907, being replaced by George Dalrymple and the Miners in 1910. He might have been the sole manager of the Miners that year, though he potentially replaced Elmer Meredith partway through the year. He led the Miners to a first place finish and league championship. He took the reins of the Burlington Pathfinders in 1911 and managed them through 1913, then again in 1915 and once more in 1916, though he was replaced partway through the last campaign by George Boelzle. Burlington also played as the Ottumwa Packers in 1916, after the club changed cities. In 1914, between his stints with Burlington, he managed the Salina Coyotes.
