Biographical Information[edit]

Middle infielder Gary Polczynski was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the first round, 15th overall, of the 1970 amateur draft. He struggled mightily in his four-year minor league career, hitting .193/.303/.258 with only nine home runs and 113 RBI in 376 games. His career peaked briefly at Triple-A, where he spent four games.

Perhaps his best campaign was 1971, when he hit .192/.302/.271 with 4 home runs, 41 RBI and 38 runs scored in 125 games for the Tampa Tarpons.
