Gary Miller-Jones

Biographical Information[edit]

Second baseman Gary Miller-Jones was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the fifth round of the 1982 amateur draft but never reached the majors. Miller-Jones played in the minors from 1982 through 1989, spending all of the last five seasons with the Pawtucket Red Sox. Despite five years at AAA, he never made the majors; had he done so, he would have been the first major league player with a hyphenated surname. Ryan Rowland-Smith accomplished that feat in 2007. Miller-Jones's best season in AAA may have been 1987, when he hit .245 with 10 HR and 60 RBI.
