Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Garett Gentry played in the minor and independent leagues on-and-off from 1999 to 2006.

Drafted by the Houston Astros in the 13th round of the 1999 amateur draft out of high school, the ballplayer had an inauspicious career until 2001, when he hit .299/.376/.567 with 24 home runs and 103 RBI in 98 games for the Class A Michigan Battle Cats. He did not play in 2002 and joined the Colorado Rockies system for 2003 and 2004. In those campaigns he played 59 games total, hitting .349 with 10 home runs and 48 RBI. He wrapped up his career in indy ball in 2006 after not playing in 2005.

Overall, Gentry hit .299/.368/.505 with 40 home runs and 199 RBI in 257 games at all levels.
