Biographical Information[edit]
Futoshi Kobayashi pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Kobayashi was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the first round of the 2007 NPB draft, and he was 6-5 with a 4.41 in 2008. He went 1-8 with a 4.48 ERA in 2009, and his ERA rose to 6.21 in 20 games in 2010. Kobayashi was 4-3 with a 3.74 ERA in 2011, and he recorded a 3.74 ERA in 35 games in 2012. However, his ERA rose to 8.78 in 11 games in 2013, and he only pitched 2 games with the big club in 2014. He announced his retirement after the 2014 season.
Overall, Kobayashi was 13-23 with a 4.47 ERA, struck out 227 and pitched 388 1/3 innings in 7 seasons in the NPB.
