Biographical Information[edit]
Furman Bisher was a sportswriter, columnist and author who won the Red Smith Award in 1988 while working for the The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He produced a regular column for The Sporting News for many years. He also wrote or co-wrote the books Strange But True Baseball Stories (1966), Miracle in Atlanta: the Atlanta Braves Story (1966), Aaron (1968), among others.
