Biographical Information

Fu-Chuen Hsiao played in the CPBL and TML and for the Chinese Taipei national baseball team.

Hsiao represented Taiwan in the 1994 Asian Games and 1994 Baseball World Cup. In the latter event, he backed up Chun-Chang Yeh at catcher, going 3-for-7 with a walk, two doubles, run and RBI, handling 13 chances error-free and allowing two steals in three tries. The Mercuries Tigers signed Hsiao in 1997, but he couldn't adapt to professional baseball, only hit .185/.219/.217 in his rookie year. The Tigers released Hsiao in the beginning of 1998 season, and the China Times Eagles picked him up. Hsiao still was unable to repeat his batting in the international events, and only hit .190/.333/.333 in 44 games this year. When the Taiwan Major League was founded in 1998, Hsiao jumped to there and signed with the Kaoping Fala. However, changing leagues couldn't save his career. Hsiao eked out a .206/.302/.284 batting line among 80 games in the TML, and the Fala released Hsiao on the end of the 1999. Hsiao became a high school coach after retiring.

Overall, Hsiao had hit .195/.253/.270 in four seasons in the CPBL and TML.
