Biographical Information[edit]
Fred Leo served as the final president of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League from 1950 until the end of the league in 1954. He had originally gained status in the baseball world after working as a newspaper writer and sports announcer. In 1946 he helped in founding the Peoria Redwings, and worked as a publicist for the AAGPBL beginning around 1947. He then became league president after Max Carey stepped down following the 1949 season. Leo had also served as league commissioner as well.
