Fred Bennett (minors)
Fred M. Bennett
Biographical Information[edit]
Fred Bennett played in the minor leagues from 1905 to 1909. He played 100-plus games once, in 1909, hitting .226 in 323 at-bats for the Quincy Vets. As a pitcher that year, he was 7-6 with a 3.89 ERA in 15 games. He potentially replaced Harry Hofer as manager of the Vets in 1909. His The Sporting News contract card says he managed the Fremont Pathfinders in 1912, though Baseball-Reference.com and the Bullpen list the manager as Leonard "L.D." Bennett.[1]
