Biographical Information[edit]
Franklyn Aspillaga pitched briefly for the Cuban national team. In the first Cuban Serie Nacional season, 1962, the teenager tied Aquino Abreu and Jorge Santín for the most hit batsmen (5). In 1962-1963, he tossed two shutouts for the Occidentales to pace the circuit. He was 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in the 1963 Pan American Games. He would pitch seven seasons in Cuba, going 23-13 with a 2.86 ERA in 78 games (39 starts).
