Biographical Information[edit]
Frankie Sweeting was a top pitcher in the Bahamas. He was named Pitcher of the Year in 1963 when he went 6-2 with 73 strikeouts for I-Need-A-Laundry, leading in wins and whiffs. He won three games at the 1969 National Baseball Congress World Series. In 1975, he went 19-6 for Paradise Island to lead the league in wins. He again led in wins in 1976 (12) and 1977 (12), winning his second Pitcher of the Year in '77. The veteran was on the Bahamas national team that was a surprisingly strong 3-4 at the 1979 Pan American Games.
