Biographical Information[edit]
Frank Dascoli was a National League Umpire for 14 years following two years umpiring in the minors. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
He umpired 2,045 games from 1948 to 1961 plus 19 games in the 1953, 1955 and 1959 World Series and the 1951 and 1957 All-Star Games.
He died at age 74 and is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Danielson, CT. Dascoli began his umpiring career in the Eastern Shore League in 1946, then moved to the Canadian-American League in July of that year. He then worked in the International League from 1947 through July 3, 1948, when he moved up to the NL.
