Biographical Information[edit]
Frank Colman was a backup outfielder/first baseman for six seasons in the major leagues in the 1940s, primarily with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Born in London, Ontario, Frank played ball first in his hometown. When his major league days ended, he played for the Seattle Rainiers and was a player-coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs before returning to London as player-owner. He also played for the Newark Bears from 1946 to 1948. Six seasons of his 13-year minor league career were with Toronto. He is a member of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and the London Sports Hall of Fame.
