Biographical Information[edit]

Francisco Rondón played in the minors and for the Dominican national team.

Rondón began his professional career with the New York Yankees, and he was 1-3 with a save and 3.09 ERA for the DSL Yankees 2 in 2006. He went 4-1 with a 3.65 ERA for the DSL Yankees 1 in 2007, and he was 2-1 with a 3.22 ERA for the GCL Yankees in 2008. Rondon went 3-2 with a solid 2.32 ERA in 11 starts for the Staten Island Yankees in 2009; had he qualified, he would've ranked 9th in the New York-Penn League. He slumped to 1-2 with a 7.71 ERA for the Charleston RiverDogs in 2010. He was 2-3 with a 4.67 ERA for the RiverDogs in 2011, and he pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings in Staten Island. He contributed a shutout inning for the Leones del Escogido in the winter. In 2012, Rondon pitched 41 games with a 3.96 ERA for the Trenton Thunder, and he added 5 shutout innings with the Tampa Yankees. He also reached AAA in that season, but he allowed 3 runs in 2 1/3 innings in his only appearance for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. He was 7th in the Yanks chain in games pitched and missed the Eastern League top-ten by two.

The Santo Domingo native had a 3.18 ERA in 10 games for the Leones in the winter, and he notched 3 saves with a 4.01 ERA for the Thunder in 2013. His ERA was 3.12 in 3 games in AAA in the '13 season, and he had a 3.86 ERA in 2 games in winter ball. Rondon then went 3-2 with a save and a 3.69 ERA with the Thunder, and he was 3-1 with a 3.32 ERA for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. He left the Yankees system after that season, and he pitched 5 games with a 3.00 ERA for the Leones. Rondon then signed with the Mississippi Braves in 2015, and he was 3-2 with a 6.52 ERA. He represented the Dominican Republic in the 2015 Premier 12, and he allowed a run in 1/3 of an inning against South Korea. He completed 2/3 of a shutout inning against Japan, but he was replaced by Danilo De Jesus against Venezuela after surrendering a double to the - only batter he faced - Luis Jimenez. [1]

In 216 minor league games (39 starts), he had been 32-20 with 8 saves and a 3.79 ERA.
