Biographical Information[edit]

Francesco Fuzzi has been an infielder in the Italian Baseball League.

Fuzzi debuted for Godo in 2006, hitting .118/.158/.132 in 42 games, fielding .914 at second base. In 2007, he batted .143/.189/.200 and fielded .875. He produced at a .199/.270/.240 clip and fielded .835 for Godo in 2008. The next year, his stats remained poor on both ends of the ball: .172/.258/.190, .882 fielding % at 3B. In 2010, he hit .215/.281/.257 and fielded .900 at the hot corner. During 2011, the Ravenna native batted .194/.289/.255 and fielded .898 at SS. In 2012, he hit .217/.333/.290 and fielded .917 at third base. Moving to Unipol Bologna in 2013, he hit better: .273/.365/.327. He was 3 for 12 with two doubles, a run, two RBI and two walks in the postseason for the first time in his career. He excelled in the 2013 European Cup, going 7 for 13 with a double, two walks, three runs and five RBI. He led the Regensburg pool in average (by .005 over Nick Nosti), was 4th in slugging (between Marcos Paulino and Chris Howard), was second in OBP (.011 behind Nosti), tied for 5th in hits (with Bas de Jong, Wesley Connor and Kenny Berkenbosch) and tied for 5th in RBI. He scored one of two Italian runs in the 2013 Asia Series, the first time a European team had played in an Asia Series.
