Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Ford Proctor is not to be confused with Ford Prefect, hero of Douglas Adams' book series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
Drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays out of Rice University in the 3rd round of the 2018 amateur draft, he was traded to the San Francisco Giants in return for P Jeremy Walker on August 2, 2022 and made his major league debut with San Francisco on September 24th that year. He started the game at second base against the Arizona Diamondbacks and went 0 for 3 in a 5-2 loss. He had earlier been drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 40th round in 2015 but had decided to continue on to college.
