Biographical Information[edit]
Floyd Weaver was signed on June 1, 1961 by scout Bobby Goff for a reported bonus of $65,000. This was a week after he had struck out 21 batters in the first round of the 1961 NJCAA Baseball World Series, losing 5-3 to Wilbur Wright College of Chicago, IL. He had served in the US Army before signing.
Following his baseball career, Floyd Weaver worked for many years as an industrial X-ray technician. He died on November 17, 2008. At the time of his death, he was a deacon in the East Paris Baptist Church.
