Fernando Arango

Biographical Information[edit]
Fernando Arango has been a scout and college coach. His son Tony Arango has also been a scout.
The Cuban native was pitching coach at the University of Iowa from 1975-1978, then spent 1979-1991 as head coach of Cleveland State University. In 1992, he was pitching coach for the Oneonta Yankees. He was also a scout for the New York Yankees from 1992-1995, then held the same position with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays from 1996-2000. In 2003, he joined the Milwaukee Brewers as a north Florida area scout. He was promoted to Coordinator - Latin America then to Director of Scouting for the Dominican Republic. He signed Orlando Arcia, Miguel Diaz, Wily Peralta and Gian Rizzo.
