Biographical Information

Reliever Federico Castaneda has pitched in the minors since 2003. He has spent most of his career in the Mexican League, though he played in the Kansas City Royals system from 2009 to 2011.

Castaneda reached Triple-A twice while in affiliated ball, in 2010 and 2011. With the Omaha Royals the former year, he had a 3.69 ERA in 31 games; the next year, his mark was 0.00 in two appearances.

He was taken by the San Diego Padres in the Triple-A porton of the 2012 Rule 5 Draft, but never played in their system.
