Biographical Information[edit]

Evan Porter played one season in the minor leagues.

As a college freshman, he hit .338 with a team-high 50 RBI and 17 doubles. He batted .335 as a sophomore and led the University of Nebraska at Omaha with 61 RBI and 17 doubles. As a junior in 2008, he improved to .385/.460/.681 with 15 home runs, 68 runs and 76 RBI in 58 games. He batted .424/.500/.655 with 23 doubles and 62 RBI in 61 games as a senior. The American Baseball Coaches Association picked him as the NCAA Division II All-American shortstop. He finished as the all-time school leader in hits (323), doubles (75), homers (43) and RBI (249). He was picked by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 23rd round of the 2009 amateur draft.

Playing for the 2009 Williamsport Crosscutters, he hit .183/.241/.250 as a middle infielder. The next season, the Phillies released him during spring training. He signed with Germany's Solingen Alligators, replacing Damon Lessler on the roster. He debuted on April 17, hitting third and playing short. He was 1 for 4 with 2 runs and a RBI against the Dortmund Wanderers in the first game of a doubleheader.

Porter was an assistant coach at University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2013-2016 then became head coach in 2017.
