Biographical information

Eude Brito was signed by scout Wil Tejada for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1998. As an amateur, he was a fine hitter and even better pitcher. He was born and grew up in the coastal town of Sabana de la Mar. He played in the Jaboco Green League before he signed and made his debut with the GCL Phillies in 1999. Brito pitched 11 big league games (7 starts) for the Phils, split between 2005 and 2006. In 40 1/3 innings, he pitched to a 5.36 ERA and 23/24 BB/K ratio. He was a member of the 4th place Dominican Republic squad at the inaugural WBC.
