Biographical Information[edit]

Ethan Merrill pitched in the Boston Red Sox system from 1994 to 1997 and for the independent Adirondack Lumberjacks in 1997. Undrafted, he began his professional career with the Utica Blue Sox, posting a 1.41 ERA in 44 2/3 innings in 1994. He then went 12-7 with a 3.78 mark in 27 games (25 starts) for the Sarasota Red Sox in 1995. After a couple down seasons, he joined the Lumberjacks in 1997, where he went out on a high note—in 17 games (12 starts), he was 7-4 with 3 complete games and a 2.27 ERA.

Overall, Merrill went 30-26 with a 3.90 ERA in 96 games (65 starts) over 4 seasons.
