Biographical Information[edit]

Ethan Martin debuted as a pro in 2009 and made the major leagues in 2013.

In 2008, Martin hit .509 with 18 HR in 108 AB as a high school senior and was 10-2 with a 1.50 ERA, striking out 162 and allowing 39 hits in 89 innings. Baseball America named him the best utility man on their high school All-American team. The Los Angeles Dodgers picked him 15th overall in the 2008 amateur draft and scout Lon Joyce signed him for a $1,730,000 bonus.

Martin started off as a pro with the 2009 Great Lakes Loons. He debuted on April 11 against the Dayton Dragons and tossed five shutout innings, allowing two hits, in a fine win.

On July 31, 2012, Martin was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies along with Josh Lindblom in return to OF Shane Victorino.
