Ernesto Aparicio was a Venezuelan player, manager and owner. He founded the Gavilanes club based in Maracaibo, along with his brother Luis. The club won nine league titles. A second basemen, he and his brother formed the most famous middle infield duos in Venezuelan history. Retiring early as a player, he spent 40 years training young players at a baseball academy he founded. There he trained his nephew, Luis Aparicio, and Ozzie Guillén. He either coached or managed the Venezuelan national team in the 1952 Amateur World Series.
