Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Eric Skoglund was a winner in his major league debut for the Kansas City Royals on May 30, 2017, defeating the Detroit Tigers and ace Justin Verlander, 1-0 while pitching 6 1/3 scoreless innings of two-hit ball.

Skoglund was a third-round pick by the Royals in the 2014 amateur draft, out of the University of Central Florida. The scout was Jim Buckley.

On January 16, 2019, Major League Baseball announced that he was being suspended for the first 80 games of the upcoming season after testing positive for two performance-enhancing substances, which were selective androgen receptor modulators.
