Biographical Information[edit]

The son of Sam Perlozzo and nephew of Nick Perlozzo, Eric Perlozzo was picked in the 2007 draft.

Eric missed his senior year with an injury but returned as a graduate student after being redshirted and hit .295/.346/.367 while fielding .989. The Baltimore Orioles took him in the 35th round of the 2007 amateur draft, shortly before they fired his father as manager. Eric debuted professionally on June 20 for the Bluefield Orioles against the Bristol Sox, who also had a second baseman whose father managed in the majors in 2007 - Oney Guillen. Perlozzo went 0 for 3 in his debut, striking out twice.
