Eric Jagers

Biographical Information[edit]

Eric Jagers was named assistant pitching coach of the Cincinnati Reds for the 2021 season when he was only 25. As was the case with many coaches at the time, he had never played professionally, instead using a university degree in business analytics as an inlet into the coaching profession. In 2018 Jagers joined Driveline Baseball as Manager of Technical Development where he provided analytics services to professional players and coaches as well as various college programs.

Jagers quickly moved into the professional leagues in 2019 when the Philadelphia Phillies hired him for a pitching strategist role. After just one year there, he was named the minor league assistant pitching coordinator for the Reds in 2020. The next year Jagers joined the major league coaching staff as the Reds' assistant pitching coach and remained in that role through the 2022 season.

The New York Mets hired Jagers in 2023 to serve as their Director of Pitching Development.
