Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman Eric Heise played two seasons of professional baseball, both in the independent leagues. In 1998, he hit .319 with 2 homers and 14 RBIs in 38 games for the Ohio Valley Redcoats of the Frontier League, and in 1999 he hit .220 with no homers and 17 RBIs in 36 games for the Dubois County Dragons in the same circuit.

While his professional career was largely unremarkable, he set a record while playing for NCAA Division III school Ohio Wesleyan University in 1998 when he homered in six straight games. His record was later broken by Derek David of McMurry University in 2008, but he still capped a remarkable college career that year by batting .453 with 12 homers and 60 RBIs. He batted .393 in his career at the school and was named to its athletics Hall of Fame in 2009. In spite of his heroics, he was never drafted.

After baseball, he built a successful career in the field of medical sales.
