Biographical Information[edit]

Eric Campbell has been a minor league pitcher, college coach and an executive with USA Baseball.

Campbell once played all nine positions in a game for Creighton. The Chicago White Sox drafted Campbell in the 25th round of the 1984 amateur draft. He was 3-5 with 3 saves and a 4.58 ERA in 20 games for the Niagara Falls Sox that summer, striking out 39 and walking 16 in 37 1/3 IP. He tied for the team lead in games pitched and led in saves. He was assistant coach at Creighton, St. Thomas University and the United States Air Force Academy from 1986-1994. He was head coach of Air Force from 1995-1998, with 29 wins in 1995 (one of the best seasons in schools annals). He had volunteered for the US Olympic Committee Festivals and coached for the US in the 1999 Junior Pan American Games. In 2000, he joined USA Baseball as primary administrator for the junior national team. He was on the technical committee for the 2006 World Baseball Classic and business manager for Team USA in numerous events, including the 2001 Baseball World Cup, 2003 Baseball World Cup, 2005 Baseball World Cup, 2006 COPABE Olympic Qualifier, 2007 Baseball World Cup, 2008 Olympics, 2009 World Baseball Classic, 2009 Baseball World Cup, 2011 Baseball World Cup and 2011 Pan American Games. As of 2014, he was listed as General Manager, National Teams for USA Baseball.
