Elpidio Páez Santos
Elpidio Páez completed the first combined no-hitter in Cuban history, finishing up Walfrido Ruiz's gem of January 16, 1971. In 1972-1973, his 32 appearances tied Andrés Leyva for the Cuban Serie Nacional lead. He led with 36 games pitched in 1973-1974. Overall, he went 11-11 with 19 saves and a 1.74 ERA in five seasons in Cuba. He allowed just a .190 opponent average.
