Biographical Information

The 1910 St. Louis Cardinals used Elmer Zacher as their fourth outfielder. He was in the minors starting in 1905 with Concord, Worcester, New Haven, and Newark. After his major league season he was in the minors with Chattanooga, Oakland, Salt Lake, Newark, Elmira, and Rochester through 1916.

He was famous for catching a ball dropped from an airplane in 1912.

After baseball he was supervisor of playgrounds in Buffalo, NY and Assistant Secretary of State in New York. Sporting Life in 1907 said he was a physician.
