Biographical Information[edit]
Elcilio De Leon pitched in the minors leagues and the CPBL.
De Leon began his professional career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and he went 1-4 with three saves and a 5.73 ERA for the GCL Pirates in 1992. He was 2-4 with a 4.07 ERA for the Lethbridge Mounties in 1993, and he recorded a 4.82 ERA in 19 relief outings for the Augusta GreenJackets in 1994. De Leon also pitched 3 games for the Welland Pirates in 1994, but his ERA was 5.06. He was 2-0 and had a 4.24 ERA in 13 games with the Lynchburg Hillcats in 1995, then the Pirates released him. The Sinon Bulls of Taiwan signed him, but De Leon allowed 32 runs in 24 innings. He recorded a 5.40 ERA in 14 games for the Lubbock Crickets in 1997, and he went to Italy and played in the Serie A1 in 1999, going 9-6 with a 3.11 ERA for Fortitudo Bologna. He was 5th with 93 K, tied José Ramos for 5th in wins and threw a rain-shortened, five-inning no-hitter.
